Diabetes is a well known disease worldwide. A lot of people have the disease, and the number is still growing. How can it be that diabetes is such a big problem? Especially in Malaysia, the figures are extremely high and still growing. What are the consequences and how should the population and the government react?
Diabetes Type 2 In Malaysia
The biggest problem in Malaysia is the type 2 diabetes. Almost 95 percent of all the diabetes patients has
type 2 diabetes. This is a form of diabetes which you are not born with. You can get it by several reasons. Beneath these reasons are shown:
- Eating unhealthy. This means eating much, and also a lot of sugar. This has a huge impact on the human body and makes the body incapable of transforming insulin into cells. This is the most important part of the problem. Since Malaysians love food, it is difficult to teach them how to deal with sugar and other bad substances. We think it is necessary to educate the children on elemantary school. So they know what is good for them and what is bad.
- It is also possible that the body cannot absorb insulin good enough. When getting older, this could be a problem that occurs. What happens at that point, is that the body cannot absorb insulin into the cells. Now, the body cannot create new energy and transform cells. When this happens the best thing to do is go to the doctor immediately. It is difficult to recognize this as a normal person.
